KIDS 4-5 Class Details

Our mission for this age group is to encourage, enhance and explore each child’s natural creativity through an art-rich curriculum that includes drawing, painting, and collage. At this age, children are still developing their fine motor skills. Through hand-eye coordination exercises, we help improve the way they transfer what they see onto paper. .

We teach kids how to construct forms using simple shapes and apply basic art elements and concepts that will enrich their art projects.

We help kids learn to use different media and techniques using watercolor, tempera paint, oil pastels, and markers.

By using these media in fun-filled lessons, we look to ignite children's imaginations and creative exploration. Our aim is to nurture a love for art that touches the hearts and souls of our students. Above all, we value the artistic process over the end product!

When can I enroll in a class?
You can enroll anytime as long as we have space in the class. The tuition for the first month will be prorated based on your enrollment date.

4. CLASS POLICIES.
* PARENTS IN WAITING AREA - Our three locations are equipped with a lobby/waiting area for parents who wish to wait while students are in class. Please be aware that parents ARE NOT ALLOWED to sit in the class or inside the studio area. Parents in the classroom during class can be disruptive to the teacher, other students, and your own child. Please wait in the lobby area until the class has finished. Please contact us if you have any specific concerns about this policy.
* DROP OFF/PICK UP AND PUNCTUALITY - Please be on time for your class. Do not drop off your child early or leave him/her at the studio past their class time. Our staff needs time to get ready for the next class or, if it is the last class of the day, they will be ready to go home to their families. We are not equipped to watch/babysit children after their class time has ended. There is a $2 fee per minute for children picked up after our 10-minute “grace period” window.

Do you love art?

How many times have you heard an adult say that they “do not have an artistic bone in their body” or “I can’t even draw a straight line”?

Most of us stop drawing around ten years of age when we become self-conscious and very critical of ourselves. As Pablo Picasso said, “Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.” The good news is that learning how to draw is like learning to ride a bicycle or playing an instrument; you can learn, and we can teach you.
