Keela Burgeson – B.F.A. Drawing focus.
The want to create and make 2D art has been seeping through my veins since I was very young. It did not always come easy to me, but I have loved learning new forms of art making throughout all of grade school, and this is partially what lead me to peruse it as a degree in college. I graduated from Texas State University with a BFA in drawing focus. I was able to experiment with many art forms, but came back to ink drawing, watercolor, laser cutting and fabrication, and relief printmaking. While in college, I was fortunate enough to attend a study abroad program in Florence, Italy studying Italian Art History and Drawing for one month in the summer. This has influenced my work and the way I view the art world ever since. I continued to explore new mediums after this with a Summer internship at Flatbed Press, a printmaking studio and gallery in south Austin. Now, I wish to share this enthusiasm that defines me with anyone that wishes to spark their creative flame. Everyone has the capacity to be creatively fulfilled in life, and hopefully I can help you find your muse.
