Unlock your creativity from the comfort of your home through our engaging online art classes and camps. Designed for artists of all levels, our virtual program delivers the same high-quality instruction you’d find in person—now accessible wherever you are.
Each class invites students to explore both traditional art techniques—like drawing, watercolor, and tempera—and digital illustration and animation using tools such as Procreate. Because classes are taught live via Zoom, you’ll have the chance to ask questions, receive guidance, and connect with your instructor and peers in real time.
Additionally, our small-group format—limited to just six students—provides personalized attention and meaningful feedback. This supportive environment allows each student to build confidence while strengthening core art skills. (See what can be learned.)
As the sessions progress, you’ll gain experience with sketching characters, painting vibrant scenes, and animating your own digital creations. In fact, each project is thoughtfully crafted to inspire creativity and expand technical ability.(see before/after progress gallery).
Whether you’re located in Austin or anywhere in the world, our online classes offer the same warmth, structure, and encouragement that define all of our programs. All it takes is a device with a camera, a few art supplies, and a sense of curiosity to get started.
What you get?
START ANYTIME.
Yes, you can enroll at any time, as long as there’s space available in the class. Additionally, tuition for the first month is prorated based on your start date.
SMALL CLASS.
Moreover, each class is limited to a maximum of 6 students.
MATERIALS.
We will send you the material list you will need to get for your class when you enroll.
What if I miss a class?
We understand that sometimes things come up—unexpected events, travel, or illness—and you may need to miss a class. Not a problem! As long as you are enrolled, you can make up a missed classes by attending another class listed in our schedule at any of our locations.
However, keep in mind that there is absolutely no prorating or refund for missed classes. In addition, missed classes cannot be used as class credit for the next session, other classes, or camps.
Tuition & Fees
Your tuition covers four consecutive art classes, held once per week. This structure helps students build skills steadily through consistent, focused practice. There is also an annual admin fee, – it will be prorated if you join mid-year, so you can start anytime without overpaying.
Materials: Digital & Traditional
For digital art classes using Procreate, you’ll need an iPad, Apple Pencil, and the Procreate app. This setup lets you sketch, color, layer, and animate with ease. We’ll walk you through the basics in the first class to help you feel confident using the app.
For traditional art classes, we’ll send a simple materials list with items like pencils, erasers, sketchbooks, watercolors, and brushes. Supplies are easy to find in stores or online, and we’re happy to help if you have questions.

My 6 year old daughter started taking classes from Ms Macia this January, and the progress she made within just five months has been so impressive! She was able learn different ways of expressions and also started to develop an appreciation of art. The teacher is very professional. My daughter absolutely loves going to the art class each week!
My six-year-old son had a great time! After the first day of camp, he was so excited and looked forward to going each day thereafter. He often checked with me to make sure I had not forgotten. 🙂 He definitely wants to attend next Summer and I’m sure he will. The teacher (Ms. Morgan) was super as well. He usually would give her a hug before leaving each day. The portfolio show on the last day was also terrific and nicely laid out. My son was so proud to show off his accomplishments. Next year I suspect he will be attending 2 or 3 camps. Thanks so much to Art Academy for giving him such a wonderful experience!!
Camp was a fantastic experience…the students learned multiple techniques, enjoyed their time creating, and the teacher was positive and enthusiastic.
I cannot say enough about Art + Academy and all the teachers! My 7 year old daughter started a year ago and she LOVES going each week. She is super active and loves sports, so this class allows her to explore her contemplative, quiet side. Her work amazes me….so much so that I, as an adult who has never taken an art class, enrolled in one. I think it is the greatest thing I have decided to do for myself! I love exploring this part of me I wasn’t aware of for so many years. I will definitely put my son in a class as soon as he is old enough. Don’t think twice about it. Enroll you or your kiddo. Excellent teachers and great classes. My 5 year old got to make new friends and enjoy a week of summer art camp with Ms Adria. We got to set up a nice shelf at home to display all the art she created at camp.
We have been attending art classes since my daughter was 5 years old. We have been to a few others, but have stayed at Art + Academy because it is the best. The teachers are very very focused on improvement but are also gentle and encouraging. We have been here for close to 2 years now and have attended a summer camp. We just love our teacher Marcia Breternitz! She is SO kind and very good at her craft.
My daughter has been attending an art academy since 2021. She loves drawing and has learned many skills there. She especially loves Ms. Marcia, who has made learning enjoyable and helped her explore various forms of expression. Art+Academy continues to be a creative haven for me. Rosemarie Goode continues to teach me and others in our class different mediums to use creatively. I have experience watercolour, pencil, pen, pastels, colored pencils and mixed media. Examples: colored pencils and watercolour; and watercolor and black pen. Rosemarie not only challenges me, but also the other students in the class. I enjoy the group so very much! I recommend this teacher and the Academy.
I looked at several schools before settling on Art Plus Academy. The before and after pictures on the website gave me the push I needed to sign up for a class. I took an adult art class with Monica. I saw vast improvements in my sketches in a short time. Monica is an excellent teacher. Her passion for art and teaching comes across in every class. She genuinely cares about her students. When I was having a difficult time with one of the techniques, she sent me materials to look at so that I could improve my skill. She has built a wonderful community of students and teachers. Everyone I have come across has been encouraging, inclusive and friendly. I would highly recommend Art Plus Academy.
The quick move by the Art Academy from in-person instruction to online classes was remarkably smooth and effective. At a time like this, we need the flexibility and creativity of organizations like the Art Academy. I am particularly please with the online help and guidance I have been receiving from Luz Marie, the instruction at the SouthWest Austin studio. It has been overall a very rewarding experience to work with Art Academy. I highly recommend this art school.
Since 2021, my daughter has been attending these art classes. Under the tutelage of Ms. Marcia, she has unleashed her creativity as she explores various mediums such as pastel, acrylic, watercolor… among others. Also, she has improved her tracing skills since then, and is more aware of the perspective and colors palette when drawing and painting. Teachers are nurturing, and encourage the kids to express themselves artistically delving into their themes of interest. The academy holds an annual showcase, presenting a fantastic opportunity for her to exhibit her artistic growth and to immerse herself in the diverse styles and talents of her peers. Its accommodating policy on making up for missed classes adds to the convenience. All in all, this is a great space for nurturing your kids’ artistic skills!
Enrollment in Art+ Academy was a Christmas gift for my daughter in 2020. She’s now been attending the teen class every Saturday since January 2021 and she absolutely loves it. She commented on how much her work has progressed over the last year. She loves Miss Alexandra & loves having the space to be creative and receive helpful instruction on what she wants to create (rather than following a predefined curriculum).
My daughter started last month with Ms. Morgan and she loves it so far. Morgan is a great teacher, very encouraging and spends personal time with student. My decision to take art classes at the Art Plus Academy was the best experience I could have hoped for. I am a children’s book author/illustrator and wanted to improve my skills, as I am self taught. I learned so much so quickly. The teachers are wonderful, and I loved my classmates. I looked forward to each weekly class and intend on signing up for ongoing classes. What a fun experience. My adult son, Mark, has enjoyed classes at Art + Academy for several years. He has a favorite teacher, Rose, who has helped him with both watercolor and acrylic painting. Their website is easy to use to sign up for classes. Payments can be automatic. Nice people are in charge. Following their rules is easy.
I am thrilled with the experience my daughter has had at Art+Academy under the guidance of teacher Marlene Llanes. Despite signing up towards the end of the school year, it’s been one of the best decisions we’ve made. After just one class, she was brimming with inspiration and enthusiasm for drawing. She’d come home eager to recreate what she’d learned from Ms.Marlene, and I noticed a remarkable improvement in her drawing skills after just a few sessions. Now, she spends hours engrossed in her artwork, a stark contrast from the brief 10-15 minutes she used to spend. I appreciate the small class sizes at Art+Academy; it ensures that each student receives personalized attention from their teacher.The environment isn’t overcrowded, allowing everyone to have their own space to explore their creativity comfortably. Knowing that Art+Academy offers summer camps has us excited for the upcoming break. We can’t wait to see what other creative adventures await!
Art+Academy is a fantastic art school! I appreciate the ease & flexibility with the sign up process and to a make up a missed class. The owner is very responsive. My two kids (teen class & 9-12yo class) have been attending for several months and love their teachers. In fact, because of the class make up policy, my kids have met & learned from several teachers and all of them have been so kind, engaging and skilled! I’ve been impressed. All the teachers we’ve come across really care about the kids as people and as artists and my kids feel that respect and care. We’ve seen my kids’ skills (& art) improve with the constructive feedback from talented teachers.
Our girls had a great time in Ms LuzMarie’s class. They created very cool art work they are proud of. Would recommend it!
