Unlock your creativity from the comfort of your home through our engaging online art classes and camps. Designed for artists of all levels, our virtual program delivers the same high-quality instruction you’d find in person—now accessible wherever you are.
Each class invites students to explore both traditional art techniques—like drawing, watercolor, and tempera—and digital illustration and animation using tools such as Procreate. Because classes are taught live via Zoom, you’ll have the chance to ask questions, receive guidance, and connect with your instructor and peers in real time.
Additionally, our small-group format—limited to just six students—provides personalized attention and meaningful feedback. This supportive environment allows each student to build confidence while strengthening core art skills. (See what can be learned.)
As the sessions progress, you’ll gain experience with sketching characters, painting vibrant scenes, and animating your own digital creations. In fact, each project is thoughtfully crafted to inspire creativity and expand technical ability.(see before/after progress gallery).
Whether you’re located in Austin or anywhere in the world, our online classes offer the same warmth, structure, and encouragement that define all of our programs. All it takes is a device with a camera, a few art supplies, and a sense of curiosity to get started.
What you get?
START ANYTIME.
Yes, you can enroll at any time, as long as there’s space available in the class. Additionally, tuition for the first month is prorated based on your start date.
SMALL CLASS.
Moreover, each class is limited to a maximum of 6 students.
MATERIALS.
We will send you the material list you will need to get for your class when you enroll.
What if I miss a class?
We understand that sometimes things come up—unexpected events, travel, or illness—and you may need to miss a class. Not a problem! As long as you are enrolled, you can make up a missed classes by attending another class listed in our schedule at any of our locations.
However, keep in mind that there is absolutely no prorating or refund for missed classes. In addition, missed classes cannot be used as class credit for the next session, other classes, or camps.
Tuition & Fees
Your tuition covers four consecutive art classes, held once per week. This structure helps students build skills steadily through consistent, focused practice. There is also an annual admin fee, – it will be prorated if you join mid-year, so you can start anytime without overpaying.
Materials: Digital & Traditional
For digital art classes using Procreate, you’ll need an iPad, Apple Pencil, and the Procreate app. This setup lets you sketch, color, layer, and animate with ease. We’ll walk you through the basics in the first class to help you feel confident using the app.
For traditional art classes, we’ll send a simple materials list with items like pencils, erasers, sketchbooks, watercolors, and brushes. Supplies are easy to find in stores or online, and we’re happy to help if you have questions.

Art Plus Academy is not just a great place to learn how to draw, paint, and use other media. It’s teachers help you learn how to see the world in a different way. I’ve been taking classes there since 2018, and I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made. My artwork is just getting better and better. You can’t go wrong with the teachers here and the community and friends you will build and make with other students.
Art Academy SW has been a fantastic experience for our daughter. Her skills and confidence have increased especially in regards to shading, dimension, use of color and different media. Class sizes are small allowing for kids to remain focused and have some individual direction while working on projects. Mr. Matt is an outstanding and engaging instructor!
Ms. Erin at Art + Academy and the owner Monica are wonderful! Erin has the knack to keep kids focused on the artwork while listening to and embedding their view points into the process. In her own way, she challenges each individual child to bring out their thoughts on paper while keeping the main idea/goal intact. During these challenging times, when kids and adults are trapped in their homes, Monica realized the need more so than ever to keep the routine and what more positive than art? Thanks to Monica and her staff for their quick thinking and implementation of online classes. The first online session with the same instructor went smoothly and I am very satisfied to see the same high quality of instruction online as it was in person.

Both of my teenagers have taken art classes with Miss Marcia and they love her understated approach. She sets a relaxed tone that allows both of my children to take time to enjoy expressing themselves through art. The instruction is excellent, whether in-person or online, and we appreciated the end of session art galleries. Owner Monica is very conscientious in communicating via email, phone as needed, and has worked hard to make art accessible during the pandemic.
I cannot say enough about Art + Academy and all the teachers! My 7 year old daughter started a year ago and she LOVES going each week. She is super active and loves sports, so this class allows her to explore her contemplative, quiet side. Her work amazes me….so much so that I, as an adult who has never taken an art class, enrolled in one. I think it is the greatest thing I have decided to do for myself! I love exploring this part of me I wasn’t aware of for so many years. I will definitely put my son in a class as soon as he is old enough. Don’t think twice about it. Enroll you or your kiddo. The quick move by the Art Academy from in-person instruction to online classes was remarkably smooth and effective. At a time like this, we need the flexibility and creativity of organizations like the Art Academy. I am particularly please with the online help and guidance I have been receiving from Luz Marie, the instruction at the SouthWest Austin studio. We love Art Plus Academy. The summer camp is fun and diverse – utilizing all kinds of media and encouraging the kids to express themselves, focus and create! Instructors are excellent and so supportive. This is a great environment for kids of all ages and artistic talents.
I’ve been taking art classes at Art + for six years. Every instructor has been great and can help anyone, from beginners to experienced artists (we have all levels in my adult class). It’s been great to see my artistic skills improve, as well as try new media. I really love that classes can be made up on a different day/location if you have to miss a class, which is great for those who are worried about their budget (and who isn’t?).
During this course with Art+Academy I only have kind words and I must recommend it. In Art+Academy I had the opportunity to learn a lot about technics but also I learnt to use colours in my artworks. The kids learn so many art techniques and styles. The classes are serious art classes, but they accommodate all levels and allow the kids to express themselves as individual artists.
